Meet Duane

Duane's Story

Duane Heady’s story begins with faith, family, and music. As a member of The Heady Singers, a regional gospel group founded by his father, Ray E. Heady — a pastor and established gospel songwriter — Duane grew up immersed in performance and storytelling. Together, the family recorded two albums and toured throughout the region. These early experiences shaped Duane’s understanding of the emotional power of a sincere voice and laid the foundation for the authenticity he brings to every performance today.

In 1989, Duane co-founded Concord Insurance Services, Inc., a Texas-based automobile insurance agency group. What began as two locations expanded to twenty-six agencies statewide. Serving as the company’s on-camera spokesperson and public-facing leader, Duane helped manage a mid-six-figure media budget and build strong brand recognition. In 2001, Concord was acquired by a publicly traded national insurance company, further solidifying Duane’s experience in leadership, communication, and brand trust.

In 2009, Duane returned to the automobile insurance world as a consultant and television spokesperson for a regional Automobile Insurance Agency Group. His strengths in communication and operations led to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer of the managing corporation. There, he led — together with a strong leadership team — a significant corporate turnaround, nearly doubling the company’s value in approximately 18 months. The company was subsequently acquired by another publicly traded national insurance company, where Duane also served on the board of directors.

During this stage of his career, Duane spent four years as a member of Vistage International, a CEO coaching and peer advisory organization, meeting regularly with other C-level leaders to strengthen decision-making, leadership impact, and organizational effectiveness.

After the sale of Concord Insurance Services, Duane turned his attention to a different kind of work rooted in stewardship and heritage, running his ranch, Rocking H Land & Cattle Co., a Black Angus operation. This chapter deepened his appreciation for hands-on leadership, responsibility, and long-term vision — values that continue to shape his professional presence today.

Alongside his business career, Duane Heady has remained deeply committed to service and leadership. He volunteered for many years with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, serving as Volunteer, Committee Vice-Chairman, Committee Chairman, Director, and now Director Emeritus. During his tenure, the committee helped create meaningful opportunities for wounded and injured service members recovering in San Antonio–area military hospitals to attend and experience rodeo events.

Duane also served as a facilitator for the Dale Carnegie Course, helping professionals strengthen communication, leadership presence, and confidence — skills that continue to inform his work as a trusted communicator.

In 2023, Duane formally entered the professional voice-over industry, returning to the creative roots that began with The Heady Singers. He has trained with respected voice and performance coaches including Elise Baughman, David Goldberg, and Erica Brookhyser, as well as senior instructors at Edge Studio.

Today, Duane brings together his artistic heritage, executive leadership experience, and lifelong commitment to service to deliver professional voice-over performances that are warm, grounded, and authentic.
